A study on elephant biomechanics suggests a new approach to soft robotics

A new study carried out suggests that elephant trunk gives them versatility that enables grabbing delicate vegetation and ripping apart tree trunks. The research suggests that wrapping soft robotics with structure similar to a skin could enhance protection and strengths of machines while maintaining their flexibility.
